I love practicing dentistry in this community!

At our practice, we strongly value staying up-to-date with continuing education in our ever-changing field of dentistry.

We also desire to use the best technology to deliver excellent care to our patients.
However, the highest priority to our team is the opportunity to form a great partnership with our patients.

It is the legacy that I inherited from my mentor dentist, and my hope is that it is the hallmark of who we are as a practice.

We want to work hard to earn your trust, to know you as an individual, and to provide the best oral health care possible within the framework of your overall health.
I solidly believe the longer we know our patients and see them on a regular basis, the better we get at caring for their individual needs… Especially preventatively!

We love the wonderful families in this community, and we are excited about meeting new patients. Please call us today!

Sincerely,
Graham T. Egger, DDS

Get to Know Dr. Egger: Past & Present

  • Past: Federal Way, Washington

Dr. Graham Egger began his career in dentistry in Washington state in July 2004. Following his graduation from the University of Washington’s dental school (ranked #1 in the nation during that time), he gratefully took the opportunity to join the practice of his father-in-law, Dr. Henry Surbeck, in his hometown of Twin Lakes. Dr. Egger was blessed to have worked side-by-side with Dr. Surbeck until his retirement in 2007, benefitting from his 39 years of experience in everything from clinical techniques to business management to patient interactions.

A large part of Dr. Egger’s vision for how he practices dentistry today is influenced by the lessons he learned from Dr. Surbeck and the legacy he left -from the importance of gentle delivery of anesthetic to the need for a compassionate and relational chairside manner, and finally, the goal to inspire in the patient’s overall high confidence in their dentist’s general knowledge of oral health as well as excellent clinical skill in treating their dental needs.

Dr. Egger was honored to have practiced dentistry in Federal Way, Washington, for 18 years. During that time, he bought the practice of a neighboring dentist, and fellow Tae Kwon Do black belt, Dr. Karl Yauch, in 2010, thereby combining the practices of Dr. Surbeck and Dr. Yauch and converting their shared building space into one state-of-the-art and beautifully remodeled building. He had the opportunity to mentor four associates over the period from 2012-2021 and was blessed to work with some of the best hygienists, assistants, dental front office, and specialists.

Dr. Egger and his Federal Way team loved their patients and were deeply connected to them, as well as their “dental work family,” –so as you can imagine, leaving this behind to relocate and move his family to Texas was a very difficult decision and truly a leap of faith. Meeting Dr. Davis and Cathy in the Fall of 2021 was truly an answer to prayer – and only the next few months of partnering together in a practice transition that allowed Dr. Davis to retire in March 2022 could prove that it was a positive and beneficial fit for all involved – the dentists, the patients, and the Davis dental team.

  • Present: Colleyville, Texas
Dr. Egger was excited to take over for Dr. Davis at this practice beginning in January 2022. While the two dentists enjoyed a few months of working together and ensuring a seamless transfer of care for the patients, Dr. Egger and team were thrilled to be able to celebrate Dr. Davis and Cathy’s well-deserved retirement in March 2022. Over the last 17 months, Dr. Egger and the team have melded together their combined clinical and business experience, as well as knowledge of the patient base, and in some senses, you could say they have reformulated to become a “new team” while honoring the shared values of the past.

Dr. Egger has been pleased to bring in some valued advisors from his time in Washington to help, including dental software, Dentrix-guru, Dayna Johnson of Novonee – to help with Dentrix updates; dental claims specialist Pam Knoll of Puget Sound Dental Claims; Harris Biomedical Vice President, Will Gilmore, who helps to keep our team updated in OSHA/HIPAA compliance, as well as CPR training; videographer Eric Kuelthau of Ohana videography to provide website content to name a few! Dr. Egger has also been so grateful to benefit from the foundations the Davis had laid, including the amazing network of specialists that he “inherited” from Dr. Davis’s recommendations to the different vendor reps like Randy Hull of Henry Schein and many more.

This process of moving locations mid-career has confirmed to Dr. Egger that, while some of the pieces of clinical dentistry and business practices are transferable, it is the important relationships that make all the difference – with the team, the patients, and the network of support.

  • Ongoing Education and Partnerships
Continuing education is a high priority for Dr. Egger. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the Fort Worth District Dental Society (FWDDS).

During his time in Washington state, Dr. Egger regularly attended the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference, as well as CE hosted by the University of Washington – in particular, the Ernest M. Jones Memorial Lectureship. From 2015 to 2020, Dr. Egger went through business management training through the Pride Institute and was grateful to have been coached by owner and dental guru Amy Morgan.

Dr. Egger is excited about being involved in professional organizations in Texas and has already attended the 2022 Southwest Restorative Dental Conference in Dallas, as well as the 2022 ADA Smile Conference that was hosted by the Texas Dental Association in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Egger enjoys close, collaborative working relationships with the specialists (periodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, endodontists) in our community and feels blessed to have found such an outstanding network of professionals in the Colleyville, Southlake, Grapevine, and surrounding communities.

  • Hobbies and Interests
Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Egger enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Shannon, and his four beautiful daughters. In this busy season of life, you might find him attending a wide array of sporting events for his daughters (rowing, soccer, and cross country), cheering at a Carroll Dragon, OU, or Clemson football game, trying out new local restaurants on a date night with Shannon, or enjoying a family movie night at home. He is an avid sports enthusiast and is enjoying learning more about the fantastic teams in Texas and the South!

In 2019, he was able to take his two oldest daughters on a dental mission trip to El Salvador with GHO and is aiming for another trip in the summer of 2024. With his personal faith in Jesus Christ being a critical part of his life, Dr. Egger and Shannon are grateful to have become members at 121 Community Church in Grapevine and are enjoying being a part of a Life Group there. Dr. Egger has also been excited to get re-connected to Bible Study Fellowship, attending class at Compass Church in Colleyville.

Kristen

Financial/Treatment Coordinator

With 20 years of dental experience (and 15 of those being right in this office), Kristen is an invaluable resource of experience and knowledge to both our team and our patients! Although she has always been interested in healthcare, dentistry holds a special place in her heart because she has been able to witness first-hand how a beautiful smile has the incomparable opportunity to make a lasting first impression and can bring such a positive change to a person’s confidence and personality.

She enjoys being integrally involved in complex cases, beginning with the treatment conference, coordinating with any needed specialists, helping patients schedule the necessary appointments, and finding ways to help them afford the dentistry they need – and in many cases, truly want! She routinely goes above and beyond the call of duty for our patients because she truly cares about their wellbeing. When asked what she liked most about her job, Kristen noted that in addition to helping patients, she loves being part of such a close-knit office where coworkers are like family.

Outside of the office, Kristen and her husband, Brian, enjoy time with their family – 3 girls, 2 boys, 1 granddaughter, and their Goldendoodle, Bruno. Her hobbies include boating at local lakes, hiking, exploring new places, restaurants, and small businesses, as well as golfing with the family. Other notable favorites: dark chocolate, shopping for just the right shoes, purses, or sunglasses… and any kind of murder mystery!

Michelle

Patient Care Coordinator

Michelle is originally from Peoria, Illinois. She moved to Irving, Texas in July of 2021. Michelle started working in the dental field after her sister recommended her. Immediately, Michelle knew that she wanted this to be her lifelong career – it felt so natural. The very best part of working in a dental office is seeing the smile as a patient walks out the door.

Outside of the office, Michelle enjoys traveling, crafts, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Rene our Graham T. Egger Registered Dental Hygienist smiling
Renee

Registered Dental Hygienist

Renee’s dental career began at the early age of 16 when she began working part-time in a general dental practice. The skills she learned ranged from scheduling to insurance to dental assisting. Renee received her associate’s degree in applied science and obtained her license as a registered dental hygienist in 1987. She joined this practice location’s team in 1987 and has been dedicated to her coworkers and patients ever since. Her quirky personality and quick-witted humor never fail to make us smile. In addition, she has the unique ability to educate and entertain the patient, all while putting them at ease during treatment.

Renee has a following of long-term patients that would not trust anyone else with their periodontal care. Renee is protective and cares deeply for her patients’ dental and personal health. She has a knack for piecing together different aspects of patients’ dental information and developing the most beneficial strategies for that individual.

When Renee isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her five adorable grandchildren and loves being outside doing anything – walking with friends, playing with grandkids, going to concerts, and taking motorcycle rides with her husband. She loves finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants in small towns during road trips.

Lisa our Graham T. Egger Registered Dental Hygienist smiling
Lisa

Registered Dental Hygienist

We were grateful that Lisa joined the hygiene team in 2019, following the retirement of our long-time hygienist, Janet. With 22 years of experience as a dental hygienist, as well as her kind and gentle approach to patient care, she was the perfect person to step into that role, helping our patients feel secure and cared for in that transition.

Lisa graduated from Indiana University with an associate of science in dental hygiene in 2001. She prides herself on being a dental educator and strives to make a difference in her patients’ lives. Additionally, she’s ready to address any periodontal concerns and helps create a treatment plan that will have long-lasting benefits. Lisa enjoys meeting new patients with the goal of forming a long-term working relationship and partnering with the patient to help them achieve optimum oral health.

Outside of the office, Lisa loves spending time with her husband and daughter, as well as their mini-schnauzer, Walter. She is re-energized by her hobbies of horseback riding, traveling, baking, and being with family.

Shannon our Graham T. Egger Registered Dental Hygienist smiling
Shannon

Registered Dental Hygienist

Shannon graduated from Shoreline Community College’s dental hygiene program in 1999. After temping at different offices in the Seattle and Bellevue area, she began working as a hygienist for her father, Dr. Henry Surbeck. Shannon enjoyed the opportunity to connect with the long-time patients, who either were friends or family (or essentially became that way over the years of working together). Joined by her husband, Dr. Graham Egger, following his graduation from dental school in 2004, they spent the next 17+ years working to expand the practice further, while at the same time welcoming four daughters into their family and building their life in Washington.

Shannon joined this practice along with Dr. Egger in January of 2022 after their move to Texas. She’s excited about meeting all our wonderful patients and wears a few different “hats” in the office, helping with bookkeeping and marketing, as well as working two days a week as a hygienist.

When away from work, Shannon’s time is spent enjoying the varied extracurricular activities of her college and high-school-aged daughters, going to Bible Study, date nights with her husband, and planning the next family adventure!
